常州Classification of three-phase asynchronous motors

Motors are also called motors, which are divided into ordinary motors and one-step motors. Three phase asynchronous motors have a wide range of types and are widely used. They are usually classified according to different motor structure dimensions, protection forms, cooling methods, speed categories, mechanical characteristics, rotor structure forms and use environments.

1. Classification by motor structure size

① A large electric motor refers to a motor with a center height greater than 630mm, or a base of 16 or above. Or if the outer diameter of the stator core is greater than 990mm. It is called a large electric motor.

② A medium-sized motor refers to a motor with a center height between 355-630mm. Or stands 11-15. Or the outer diameter of the stator core is between 560 and 990mm. It is called a medium-sized electric motor.

③ A small electric motor refers to a motor with a center height of 80-315mm, or a frame size 10 or below, or a stator core outer diameter between 125-560mm. It is called a small electric motor.

2. Classification by motor speed

① Constant speed motors have ordinary cage type, special cage type (deep groove type, double cage type, high starting torque type), and wound type.

② A speed regulating motor is an electric motor equipped with a commutator. Generally, three-phase shunt wound rotor motors (rotor controlled resistance, rotor controlled excitation) are used.

③ Variable speed motors include pole changing motors, single winding multi speed motors, special cage motors, and slip motors.

3. Classification by mechanical characteristics

① Ordinary cage asynchronous motors are suitable for constant speed operation with small capacity and small slip changes. Places with low starting torque and constant load, such as blowers, centrifugal pumps, lathes, etc.

② The deep groove cage type is suitable for places with medium capacity and slightly larger starting torque than the well through cage type asynchronous motor.

③ Double cage asynchronous motors are suitable for medium to large cage rotor motors. The starting torque is high. But the maximum torque is slightly smaller. Suitable for constant speed loads with high starting torque, such as conveyor belts, compressors, crushers, mixers, reciprocating pumps, etc.

④ The special double cage asynchronous motor is made of high impedance conductor material. The characteristic is high starting torque. Small maximum torque and large slip. Speed adjustment can be achieved. Suitable for equipment such as punching machines and cutting machines.

⑤ Wound rotor asynchronous motors are suitable for places with high starting torque and low starting current, such as conveyor belts, compressors, rolling machines, and other equipment.

4. Classified by motor protection form

① Open type motors do not have specialized protection for rotating and live parts, except for necessary supporting structures.

② Necessary mechanical protection is required for the rotating and live parts inside the protective motor. But it does not significantly hinder ventilation. Depending on the protective structure of the ventilation opening. There are three types: mesh cover type, drip proof type, and splash proof type. Drip proof type is different from splash proof type. Drip proof type can prevent vertically falling solids or liquids from entering the interior of the motor, while splash proof type can prevent liquids or solids from entering the interior of the motor in any direction within a range of 1000 angles to the perpendicular.

③ The enclosed motor casing structure can prevent the free exchange of air inside and outside the casing. But complete sealing is not required.

④ The waterproof motor casing structure can prevent water with a certain pressure from entering the interior of the motor.

⑤ Watertight when the motor is submerged in water. The structure of the motor casing can prevent water from entering the interior of the motor.

⑥ Submersible electric motors can operate in water for a long time under specified water pressure.

⑦ The structure of the explosion-proof motor casing can prevent the gas explosion inside the motor from being transmitted to the outside of the motor. And cause the explosion of combustible gases outside the motor.

5. According to the classification of motor usage environment, it can be divided into ordinary type, humid heat type, dry heat type, marine type, chemical type, plateau type, and outdoor type.
